One of the most important factors when placing an order is the quantity, i.e., the number of items we want to produce. It directly affects pricing, the choice of printing technique, and technical production aspects.
In this article, we explain why minimum order quantities exist and how different decoration methods influence their determination.
Minimum order and printing techniques on clothing
Screen Printing
This is one of the most popular textile printing methods. The process requires preparing a screen for each color separately, which is then exposed and set up on the printing machine. The whole process is time-consuming and involves high initial costs; however, the larger the order, the lower the unit price.
Minimum order: 25 pieces
DTF (Direct to Film)
One of the more modern printing methods, combining the advantages of digital printing and screen printing transfer. DTF allows precise color reproduction and photographic print quality. The design is printed on a special film and then heat-pressed into the material under high temperature.
Thanks to the simple printing process, small runs are possible.
Minimum order: from a few pieces
DTG (Direct to Garment)
A technique that enables prints with high detail and smooth tonal transitions. The process involves directly applying ink from the printer onto the fabric.
Minimum order: 50 pieces
Screen Print Transfer
A technique combining the advantages of screen printing with the ability to print on hard-to-reach places (e.g., hood, pocket). The design is first transferred to transfer foil and then heat-pressed onto the material using a press.
An additional advantage is the possibility to keep ready-made prints and apply them to later orders.
Minimum order: 25 pieces
Sublimation
A method perfectly suited for polyester clothing. During the process, the dye penetrates the material structure under high temperature, making the print imperceptible, durable, and resistant to washing.
Minimum order: 25 pieces
Flex Foil
A technique involving cutting a design from special foil and transferring it onto fabric using a heat press. It is characterized by high durability and vibrant colors.
Minimum order: from a few pieces
Computer Embroidery
One of the most durable and elegant methods of garment marking. However, preparing the embroidery program generates a higher initial cost.
Minimum order: 25 pieces
